Benefits of Wheatgrass Juice to Reduce Inflammation in Auto-Immune Connective Tissue Disease like Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis and MCTD

I learned about wheatgrass juice a couple years ago.  Organic Wheatgrass juice is loaded with Minerals, about 80% of the minerals in existence.  I have a wheatgrass juicer at home.  When traveling I usually try and find a fresh juice shop like jamba juice that will make the organic wheatgrass juice for me.  All the benefits without the clean-up!    I take a 2 oz. shot of wheatgrass every day that I can and I know it has helped with my Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis.  Like any supplement or health food, the benefits come over taking it consistently over a long period of time.

    • yeah – I don’t see it that way. It’s not like Echinacea at all. Echinacia is an herb – Echinacea, or purple coneflower, is a perennial herb of the Composite family, commonly known as the daisy family. Wheatgrass differs from wheat malt in that it is served freeze-dried or fresh, while wheat malt is convectively dried. Wheatgrass is also allowed to grow longer than malt is. It provides strong>chlorophyll, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and enzymes. ) My goal has been to improve my health through nutrition, and it has worked very well for me.     • The benefits of Wheatgrass are in the Chlorophil and in the high number of minerals from one source. There are more Minerals in Wheatgrass Juice then almost any other natural source. It is good solid nutrition. My philosopy is not to “Boost” the immune system but rather heal my body by providing it optimum nutrition so it can function better. It has worked for me! I went from being flat on my back and on high doeses of prednisone to doing triathlons, century rides and the 3 Day 60 Mile Breast Cancer Walk in just a few years. Started with baby steps and alot of nutritional expeimentation along the way. We all have to discover what works for us individually -what works for one person may not work for another. As always -we should consult our health practioners -Doctors, Naturopath’s and Nutrionists whenever starting any sort of Nutritional regimen.
